Pilotage Charges (2008) Sunk Surcharge

Vessel operators’ attention is drawn to page 23 of the booklet, PLA Charges 2008, “Sunk Surcharge”.

The introduction of the proposed surcharge of 100% of pilotage fees, upon vessels of less than 8 metres draught requiring to board or land at pilot at the Sunk or Cork, has been postponed until further notice.

It is anticipated that this charge will not be implemented until the PLA has identified and implemented new risk control measures in order to mitigate an increase in traffic routing to the south following the dredging of the Princes Channel.

The surcharge will for the time being remain at the 2007 level, that is, 50% upon vessels of less than 6 metres.
