Notice to Mariners

L4 of 2008  Men working on the water line at Rainham Waste Transper Jetty (Formerly Cleanaways)

On or about the 28th April 2008 for a period of up to 36 weeks, men will be working on the water line from the work boat ZEPHYR undertaking structural, shot blasting and paint work at the Rainham waste transfer jetty between the hours of 0730 and 1800.

On each end of the jetty international code signal flags “Romeo Yankee” will be displayed.  All vessels are required to exercise caution and pass at reduced speed.

The work boat Zephyr and safety boat Pronto will be maintaining a listening watch on VHF channel 14.

London VTS (Woolwich) on VHF channel 14 will include on the river broadcast a warning when men are working on the waterline.  Further information can be obtained from London VTS (Woolwich).
