Environmental Initiatives

A number of initiatives relating to the marine environment are being considered by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) including:

• Review of Marine Consents;
• Marine Stewardship;
• Marine Spatial Planning;
• Review of Marine Nature Conservation;
• Irish Sea Pilot Project;
• ICZM Stocktake; and
• Marine Protected Areas.

Further, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) are undertaking a review of the marine cultural heritage.
