Personal Watercraft Use

The PLA receives a number of reports of inappropriate use of personal watercraft on the tidal Thames and its tributaries. As a result the PLA is working with stakeholders to produce a Guidance Leaflet and Code of Conduct governing the use of personal watercraft on the tidal Thames. It is intended that the guidance will be complete by Summer 2008, in time to circulate widely throughout the Essex Thames personal watercraft community during the 2008 season.

Workshop

The PLA held a workshop in May 2007, which aimed to:

Bring together all stakeholders who have an interest in personal watercraft;
Discuss the issues associated with personal watercraft and ways to resolve any conflicts;
Discuss the general content of the Code of Conduct and Guidance Leaflet;
Produce a list of action points for future initiatives.
